Nonprofit organization seeks a candidate who is outgoing, caring and passionate about teaching critical life skills to children, youth, and families.

Prevention Specialist will:
* Facilitate evidence-based substance use and misuse prevention curricula.
* Deliver presentations at school and community sites on how to live healthy and productive lives.
* Conduct awareness campaigns to reduce the use and misuse of alcohol, nicotine, marijuana, prescription drugs, and other substances.
* Participate in community events.
* Implement summer programs for elementary and middle school students.
Daily travel to program sites is required.

Qualifications include:
Associate or bachelor's degree preferred (in education, social work, communications, criminal justice, psychology, related degrees) or experience in behavioral health, substance use prevention, education or youth will be considered in lieu of degree.
Passionate about working with children, youth, and families from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds.
Good written, verbal, and public speaking skills.
Basic knowledge of computers, relevant software, and use of technology.

Salary will depend on education and experience.

Preventing Abuse by Reaching Today’s Youth PARTY –
PARTY is a unique department within in the prevention service spectrum. PARTY staff travel daily to schools, daycares, community events, Head start programs, retirement centers, Boys and Girls Clubs etc. basically any location that has students and/or adults that can be provided with a drug-free message. Flexibility is a requirement as schedules change daily within this department. Speaking to large crowds and groups of students in a gym setting during Red Ribbon rallies is an important skill to possess. This position requires daily loading and unloading of tubs of materials and supplies. PARTY needs an energetic staff that can work independently and still connect closely with the team to accomplish goals. There is night and weekend work that is required to meet the community needs.
